Data and GDPR

MUVIST Academy takes data protection and privacy seriously. We collect and use only limited personal data on this website, primarily when you subscribe to our email updates, request a resource, or click through to enrol on a course hosted on Teachable.
On this website itself, we do not process payments or store card details. All course enrolments and financial transactions are handled securely by Teachable and Stripe under their own privacy, security and GDPR policies. Teachable publishes GDPR related information for course creators, Stripe publishes privacy and data privacy framework information, and ActiveCampaign provides GDPR consent and data processing guidance for marketers.

What we collect and why

When you submit a form on this site, we may collect your name, email address, and your organisation and role if you choose to provide them.
We use this information to send you the specific resource or information you requested, provide relevant updates about MUVIST Academy, our courses and related learning content, and understand broad patterns of interest in our services in aggregate rather than at an individual level.
Our lawful basis for processing this data is consent for marketing emails and legitimate interests to respond to specific enquiries and provide services you have requested.

We use trusted third party platforms to store and process data on our behalf:
ActiveCampaign, for email communication, consent tracking and basic marketing analytics.
Teachable, for course delivery and learner account management.
Stripe, for secure payment processing when you enrol on a course via Teachable.
These providers act as our data processors and have their own GDPR and security measures in place. You can read more in their respective privacy and security documentation on their websites.

We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above, or as required by law, for example financial records relating to purchases made through Teachable or Stripe. You can ask us to delete your data from our mailing list at any time.

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
Ask us to delete your data where we have no legal reason to keep it.
Withdraw your consent for marketing emails at any time.
Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
To exercise these rights in relation to data we hold directly, for example in ActiveCampaign, please contact us at become@muvist.com. For data held by Teachable or Stripe in connection with your purchases, we will work with those providers where needed to respond to your request.
